The children thoroughly enjoy a wide range of sports at Wells. We are fortunate to have a specialist gymnastics and dance coach who works with each class once a week. In addition, class teachers teach a range of outdoor games activities.
We participate in the local Spring Athletics League held at Ashtons Playing Fields each year. We also compete in the Key Steps Gymnastics competitions for all primary age groups where we have enjoyed lots of success both as a team and individually. The Year 5 and 6 football teams take part in the Redbridge Primary School Football League and the King’s Cup. Following the Year 5 swimming coaching offered in the summer term, we have been able to enter the Forest School Swimming Gala.
As well as P.E. within the school, we also offer a variety of out of hours sporting clubs. These include...
- Football (for all year groups - four sesssions per week)
- Karate (for all year groups from Year 1 - two sessions per week)
- Dance (for all year groups - two sessions per week)
- Tennis (for Key Stage 2)
- Netball (for Key Stage 2- once a week)
In the summer term, Year 6 pupils have the opportunity to participate in a residential visit to an activity centre where they can explore a range of outdoor adventurous activities including abseiling, rock climbing and raft building.
