Our Value of the Month: Perseverance

Perseverance is a vital "Learning Power" in our school community. It means having the "stickability" to keep going, even when a task is difficult, boring, or takes a long time. We encourage our pupils to see challenges not as roadblocks, but as opportunities to grow their brains.
What does Perseverance look like at our school?
- Trying new things, even if we might fail at first.
- Using "Yet" language: Instead of saying "I can't do this," we say "I can't do this yet."
- Learning from mistakes and finding new ways to solve problems.
- Setting small goals and celebrating every step toward achieving them
Thomas Edison: "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."
Nelson Mandela: "It always seems impossible until it's done."
Confucius: "It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop."
Marie Pickford: "Failure is not falling down; it is not getting up again."
Albert Einstein: "A person who never made a mistake, never tried anything new."
