Making connections

Global Connections: Wells Pupils Partner with Karibu International School in Uganda

We are thrilled to share an update on the exciting international partnership our pupils have formed with Karibu International School in Uganda! This collaboration is providing unique opportunities for our children to become true global citizens.

Letters That Span the Globe

The project began with an exchange of letters, which sparked incredible excitement among our students. They were not only delighted to receive mail from the continent of Africa but were also incredibly impressed by the beautiful writing skills demonstrated by the Ugandan children. Our pupils were quick to write back, eager to share details about their lives here at Wells.

A Lesson in Compassion

During January, as we focused on the value of Compassion, our students decided to take action to support their new friends. They successfully gathered and shipped a wonderful collection of reading books and art supplies to Karibu International School.

This was a deeply rewarding experience for everyone involved. Receiving videos, photographs, and heartfelt letters of thanks from Uganda helped our children truly understand the impact of their generosity and realise that even small acts can contribute to making the world a better place.

Connecting Through Technology

Most recently, the students at Karibu International School hosted a special online technology demonstration. This allowed our pupils to witness the amazing robotics and coding projects their Ugandan friends are working on! Meeting the children online has been a powerful way for our students to connect personally and develop a genuine, first-hand appreciation for a different culture.

We look forward to continuing this enriching partnership and will share future developments with you!
