Value of the month - Honesty

Value of the month for June: Honesty! Throughout this month, we will explore what it means to live truthfully in our words, actions, and intentions. Honesty is the foundation of trust, helping us build strong friendships and a safe, respectful environment for everyone.
Words of Wisdom
"No legacy is so rich as honesty." — William Shakespeare
This timeless quote by Britain's most famous playwright serves as a perfect reminder for both adults and children alike. For our students, a "legacy" is like the footprint we leave behind; it means that being truthful is the finest way to be remembered by our friends, teachers, and family. For adults, it reminds us that our true wealth lies not in what we own, but in our character and integrity.
What Does Honesty Mean for Our Pupils?
We often teach children that honesty means "not telling a lie," but it goes much deeper than that. This month, we are encouraging our pupils to practice honesty by:
- Speaking truthfully, even when they are worried they might get into trouble.
- Owning up to mistakes fairly and viewing them as opportunities to learn.
- Playing fairly on the playground and keeping the promises they make to friends.
- Showing academic integrity by doing their own work and celebrating their genuine progress.
