Latest E-safety advice
Covid 19 has seen the majority of people spending much more time online, including our children. We take the children's safety online very seriously and are constantly reviewing and updating you with the latest advice to protect them online. Today the Government has updated their advice to include two apps that you are able to download which use artificial intelligence to scan messages sent and received from devices. Some may find this intrusive of privacy but the apps do not 'listen in' to conversation but rather detect certain language and behaviours and if spotted give advice to the child and notify the parent.
The first is from the BBC called OwnIt, which you may have seen in previous information we have sent out. The second is called safetonet.
Safetonet is offering 'free licences for life' due to Covid 19 https://safetonet.com/foundation/covid/ (You will be required to register before the 1st of August to take advantage of this app)
Details of the BBC OwnIt app can be found here. https://www.bbc.com/ownit
